Tomskneftekhim

Tomskneftekhim is one of the largest Russian producers of polymers — polypropylene and high-pressure polyethylene – and is based in Tomsk.

Tomskneftekhim’s main activity is the processing of NGL with a high content of ethane and the production of polymers. Raw materials are supplied by pipeline from SIBUR’s Yuzhny Balyksky gas processing complex. NGL enters the pyrolysis facility for the manufacture of monomers — ethylene and propylene, which are then used in Tomskneftekhim’s polymer production. The end products are supplied to the domestic and export markets. Deliveries of polypropylene are also made to Orton — a SIBUR Company in Kemerovo, which produces the geosynthetic material Kanvalan.

The capacities of the business include the production of monomers — ethylene and propylene with an installed capacity of respectively 300,000 and 150,000 tonnes per year, which provides all the raw materials for the production of polymers. The Company produces polypropylene (with a capacity greater than 115,000 tonnes per year), low density polyethylene (with a capacity greater than 240,000 tonnes per year), as well as a facility for the production of formalin and carbamide resins.

Tomskneftekhim’s range of products made from polypropylene includes more than 60 brands, including composite materials based on polypropylene and its copolymer with ethylene. The list of finished goods produced from low-density polyethylene contains more than 25 product names and compositions based on it. The by-products of production (butylene-butadiene fraction, the fraction of liquid pyrolysis products, and heavy pyrolysis resin) are used in the production of synthetic rubber, aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene) and carbon black.
